Facilities and Procurement
Facilities and Procurement (HAL-60) are divided into the following units:
- Facilities Services Unit HAL-61
- Procurement and Interior Design Services
- Courier and Logistics Services
Responsibilities of the Facilities Services Unit (HAL-61):
- the acquisition, renting, subleting, management, use and disposal of the real estates, facilities, residences of heads of mission, and other facilities, which are administered by the Ministry abroad, unless the functions fall within the competence of another operative unit or mission
- the planning, construction, renovation and maintenance of real estates and facilities in the Diplomatic Service, including structural security
- the acquisition and disposal of fixtures and equipment for office facilities and residences in the Diplomatic Service
- guidance, coordination and development of matters related to facilities management.
Responsibilities of the Procurement and Interior Services:
- the furnishing of facilities and residencies in the Diplomatic Service
- the acquisition and disposal of furniture and other movable property for the missions
- the direction, coordination, development and guidance of Foreign Service acquisitions and the organisation of the functions
- cooperation in procurement matters with the Government Administrative Department, other ministries and government agencies, and Hansel Ltd
- the provision of advisory support for Foreign Service procurement and acquisitions, excluding contracts made using development cooperation appropriations
- the direction, coordination and development of Foreign Service materials management (contracts, maintenance and disposal of property and real estate assets) in cooperation with other departments and units of the Ministry
- the direction and follow-up of the Environmental Strategy and Environmental Programme for the Foreign Service as well as their development together with the Ministry's departments and units, missions and personnel
- the acquisition of motor vehicles and other machines and equipment, unless the task falls within the competence of another operative unit or mission
- the acquisition of printed products, office materials and other materials unless the task falls within the competence of another operative unit.
- art, interior design and publication storage services
Responsibilities of the Courier and Logistics Services:
- logistics services, courier mail, diplomatic bag, heavy courier services, storage services and materials transport, excluding removal services for staff members.
