Unit for Human Rights Courts And Conventions

The Unit for Human Rights Courts and Conventions is responsible for:

  • the development of human rights
  • periodic reports and monitoring relating to the implementation of human rights conventions
  • the representation of the Government of Finland before international judicial and investigative bodies examining human rights complaints, and other legal questions relating to these bodies
  • the supervision of execution measures relating to human rights complaints
  • the preparation of international human rights instruments and relevant national legislation
  • the provision of expertise, advice and opinions on human rights law.
