Treaties for which Finland is the depositary
The parties to a multilateral treaty may designate a depositary for the treaty to attend to the practicalities of the treaty process.
The functions of the depositary include
- keeping custody of the original text of the treaty and any related full powers
- preparing certified copies of the original text of the treaty
- receiving any signatures to the treaty
- receiving any instruments of ratification, acceptance, approval or access
- informing the parties to the treaty of any signatures, deposits of above-mentioned instruments and the entry into force of the treaty.

In accordance with paragraph 2 of protocol entry X in the Protocol to the Agreement between Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden on the avoidance of double taxation of income tax and property tax, the Faroe Islands submitted a request for the repeal of the provisions of Article 25(2)(c) of the Agreement. The amendment to the Agreement has entered into force on 12 December 2024 and will apply to taxes imposed on or after 1 January 2025.
