Unit for Civil Society

The Unit for Civil Society is responsible for the following issues:

• preparation, development and coordination of development policy issues related to development cooperation between the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Finnish civil society actors and international civil society
• promotion of democracy and the rule of law and discretionary government grants for development cooperation projects and programmes of Finnish actors in democracy and civil society, international organisations and non-governmental organisations
• responsibility for administering, planning and monitoring university and research cooperation granted with discretionary government grants from development cooperation funds.
