KPO-10 Trade Policy Unit
The Trade Policy Unit coordinates Finland’s trade policy and promotes Finland’s objectives within the European Union’s common trade policy. Key instruments include trade and investment agreements negotiated with third countries as well as international organisations, such as the World Trade Organization (WTO). These activities promote Finland’s competitiveness and wellbeing by opening up new markets for Finnish businesses and expertise.
The Trade Policy Unit is responsible for:
- preparations relating to the EU’s common trade policy and promoting Finland’s objectives therein;
- promoting Finland’s objectives in multilateral organisations and cooperation bodies, including in WTO, OECD, G20 and G7;
- coordination of regional and bilateral trade agreements;
- investment protection agreements and disputes;
- trade analysis.
