Visa requirements

If you need a visa to Finland, apply for a visa from the nearest Finnish mission or the visa centre that the mission advises to you. Honorary consuls and consulates cannot grant visas.

Finland – like the previous host Germany - is a member state of the Schengen agreement and most of the delegations of the ATCM XLV do not need a visa to enter Finland. In some cases, the exemption from the visa requirement applies only to holders of certain kind of passports (for example, diplomatic or biometric). The website of the MFA of Finland provides information by country and the information is available on our Host Country website as well. Please note that one can submit a visa application already six months before arrival.

For those delegations, to whom visa requirement applies, we advise you to contact our Embassies. There are, however, several countries where we do not have an Embassy. In those cases, Finland is represented by another Schengen country to issue visas for Finland. We shall inform the embassies of our partner countries accordingly. Please contact us in case you have any questions.
