Department for Africa, the Middle East and Latin America

The Department for Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America handles issues related to the countries of Africa, the Middle East, the Gulf region, and Latin America.

The Department deals with:

• political, trade political, commercial and economic, and development cooperation issues related to bilateral relations, the EU's external relations, and multilateral institutions in respect of the countries in question;
• regional organisations and other cooperation bodies;
• Euro-Mediterranean Partnership and other cooperation projects in the aforementioned regions.
