Euro-Atlantic Department
The Euro-Atlantic Department handles issues related to the following countries:
Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Britain, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Holy See, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, Ukraine and United States
The Euro-Atlantic Department is responsible for the following issues:
1) political, trade policy, commercial and economic, and development cooperation issues concerning bilateral relations, EU relations and the EU’s external relations and multilateral institutions with respect to countries within the geographical area
2) regional organisations, cooperation arrangements and other cooperation bodies
3) functions falling within the scope of the Secretariat for Nordic Cooperation
4) Arctic and Antarctic policies
5) transatlantic relations
6) EU enlargement, and
7) national coordination of EU administrative development programmes (Twinning, TAIEX) and the Technical Support Instrument (TSI)
