New Ambassadors to Denmark and Tunisia

The President of the Republic decided on 19 April the following appointments and mandates of new ambassadors and side accreditations:

Anne-Marie NyroosCounsellor for Foreign Affairs Ann-Marie Nyroos to the post of Head of the Embassy of Finland in Copenhagen, Denmark, as from 1 September 2013.

Nyroos works currently as Ambassador for Human Rights at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Earlier, she has held various positions at the Political Department, the last one being the Head of the Unit for Human Rights Policy. Nyroos has also experience in the Department for External Economic Relations and the Department for Development Policy.

In 2010-2012, Nyroos acted as foreign policy adviser to the President of the Republic.

Nyroos has worked in Finnish diplomatic missions abroad, among others, as Head of the Mission at the Embassy of Finland in Zagreb and the Permanent Mission of Finland to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. In addition, Nyroos has worked at Finland’s Permanent Representation to the OECD in Paris and the Finnish Embassy in Mexico City.

Nyroos joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1983.

Tanja JääskeläinenCounsellor for Foreign Affairs Tanja Jääskeläinen to the post of Head of the Embassy of Finland in Tunis, Tunisia, as from 19 August 2013.

Jääskeläinen transfers to Tunis from the Embassy of Finland in London, where she has been working as Minister since 2009. She has also worked in the Finnish Embassies in Damascus and Budapest.

At the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Jääskeläinen has worked at the Department for External Economic Relations and the Legal Service, and as European Correspondent at the Political Department. In 2007-2009, she acted as diplomatic adviser to the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Jääskeläinen joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs staff in 1995.

In addition, the President of the Republic granted side accreditation to  Ambassador Petri Salo, Head of the Embassy of Finland in Pretoria, to represent Finland also in Botswana.
