Your data protection rights

You have the right to know how and for what purposes we process your personal data. On our data protection website, we aim to provide a comprehensive picture of how we process personal data in our activities, but if you have any concerns, please contact our data protection officer at tietosuoja(at)formin.fi. You also have:

  2. The right to rectify or supplement  your data: If you notice omissions or errors in your data, you can ask that they be corrected. In such cases, we will ask you to tell us what information is incorrect and how and why it should be changed, or tell us what information should be added and in what way.
  3. The right to restrict processing: If you have indicated that your data is incorrect, you have the right to request that its processing is restricted until the accuracy of the data is verified.
  4. The right to object to the processing of your personal data. You can do so at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. In such cases, we may no longer process your personal data, unless there are compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or if the processing of the data is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
  5. The right to appeal or make a complaint concerning the processing of your personal data. If necessary, you may lodge an appeal or make a complaint concerning the processing of your data with the Data Protection Ombudsman at tietosuoja.fi.

Your rights when we process your data in a crisis situation

If our mission processes your personal data in a crisis situation concerning your country of residence, according to chapter 11 of the Consular Services Act you have the right – in addition to your above data protection rights – to prohibit the processing of your personal data. In addition, you have the right under the General Data Protection Regulation to request that your personal data relating to the processing be deleted.

In crisis situations, we will try to obtain your consent before processing your personal data, unless obtaining your consent is impossible or would involve a disproportionate amount of effort.
