Merikasarmi lit up in honour of Latvia's centenary

The seaside façade of the main building of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will be lit up in the colours of the flag of Latvia on 18 November in honour of Latvia's 100 years of independence.

Merikasarmi, the main building of the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, will be lit up in Latvia's colours on Sunday 18 November to mark its centenary celebrations. The Ministry lights up the Merikasarmi seaside façade in the autumn in honour of several countries' anniversaries. The centenaries of Iceland and Romania (1 December) will be celebrated next.

The illumination is a part of the Ministry's own centenary celebrations. The seaside façade of Merikasarmi will be lit up on the eve of the festive days and the lights will be turned off on the morning of the next day.
