Preliminary programme

We are pleased to invite Finnish defence and dual-use companies to join a Team Finland Visit to Australia in connection with Land Forces 2026, to be held in Perth, Western Australia, from 6 to 8 October 2026.

Land Forces is Australia’s largest land defence industry event and is organised with the support of the Australian Army. Alongside the exhibition itself, the event includes the Chief of Army Symposium, Army Innovation Day, and a broad programme of industry and stakeholder engagement.

Perth and Western Australia offer direct access to one of Australia’s most dynamic defence ecosystems. The region is strengthening its position as a major defence industry hub, with strong activity in naval capability, shipbuilding, MRO, space sector, autonomous systems and wider defence-related industry. Land Forces 2026 further increases the strategic relevance of Perth for Finnish companies seeking entry points into the Australian defence market.

Rather than participating with a national stand, Team Finland will organise a tailored delegation programme led by Ambassador Arto Haapea alongside the event, with the aim of maximising commercial and strategic value for participating companies.

Meetings and business programme

The delegation programme is expected to include high-quality joint and company-specific meetings with:
•    major primes
•    selected SMEs
•    relevant research and innovation actors
•    Australian defence stakeholders

Why participate

The visit is intended for Finnish companies that want to:
•    better understand the Australian defence market and its current priorities
•    assess business opportunities linked to the land domain and wider defence ecosystem
•    build relationships with Australian industry and defence stakeholders
•    explore practical routes to market through events, meetings and follow-up engagement

Possible additional activities

Possible related activities outside Australia will be communicated separately, if confirmed.

Note on dual-use products: Companies are responsible for assessing whether their products, software or technology are subject to export control or permit requirements. For Australia, relevant guidance can be found in the Defence and Strategic Goods List (DSGL), the Defence Export Controls permits page, and the Australian Border Force guidance on defence and strategic goods.
