Team Finland Visit to Iceland

The Team Finland network is organising a business delegation visit to Iceland (Reykjavík area) on 15-17 September 2026, led by the Ambassador of Finland to Iceland Ville Cantell.

Preliminary programme

The visit is organized in cooperation with Business Iceland, bringing together Finnish and Icelandic dual-use & defense sector actors to accelerate industrial cooperation and unlock new business opportunities.  

During the visit, participants will have opportunities to network with Icelandic dual-use companies and authorities responsible for Iceland’s defense procurement and to map out specific industry-sector needs. In addition, Harri Mäki-Reinikka, Ambassador of Trade Promotion, will be joining the visit to facilitate discussions and will be available throughout the program for networking and individual exchanges with participating Finnish organizations. 

Who should attend? 

This visit is designed for Finnish companies who wish to expand in the Icelandic defense sector, seeking both private and public sector partnerships to drive industrial growth.  

Practicalities   

Please note that participation is limited to one representative per company. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 25, and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  

To cover the expenses related to organizing the visit, the MFA will invoice a participation fee of 840 EUR + a management fee of 20 EUR per person.

The participation fee will be invoiced after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above. Kindly note that the participation fee does not include flights or accommodation of the participant nor meals outside the business delegation program.
