Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to visit Finland
Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi will visit Helsinki on 5 July and meet Finland's Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen. This is the first visit to Finland by a Chinese foreign minister.
The Ministers will discuss bilateral relations between Finland and China as well as current foreign and security policy matters.
The topics of discussion will also include the EU–China relations, Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, European security and the situation in the Middle East.
“Finland and China have long-standing, stable relations that are maintained through dialogue. China’s constructive contribution is needed in addressing topical issues facing both global security and the international economy,” Minister Valtonen says.
During his visit, Minister Wang will also meet President of the Republic Alexander Stubb. In addition to Finland, Minister Wang will visit Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
