Foreign Minister Valtonen to visit London

Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Valtonen will visit London on 2–3 September and meet UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband.

Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen and UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband will discuss topical foreign and security policy matters, including Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, support to Ukraine and European security, as well as transatlantic relations and the situation in the Middle East. They will also discuss the bilateral relations between Finland and the UK and ways to strengthen these ties further.

“The United Kingdom is a close ally and strategic partner for Finland. In addition to security and defence, Finland and the UK have many common interests and opportunities for cooperation in trade, economic affairs and technology,” says Minister for Foreign Affairs Valtonen.

In London, Minister Valtonen will, among other things, speak at Chatham House on European competitiveness in the age of artificial intelligence.
