Advance information on upcoming 2026 Call for Proposals for International Non-governmental Organizations (INGOs) for Humanitarian Mine Action

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland will open a Call for Proposals for INGOs for Humanitarian Mine Action in August 2026.

Finland has been supporting humanitarian mine action since the 1990s, and it is an integral part of Finland’s foreign, security and development policies. Humanitarian mine action promotes stability, peace, security, and sustainable development. The upcoming 2026 Call will focus on humanitarian mine action in Ukraine, Syria and Palestine and on global support for humanitarian mine action.

Further information about the Call, including full description and criteria, Standard Terms and Conditions for Grants, draft Grant Agreement and draft Application Form can be found at the Ministry’s website: Advance Information on the upcoming Call for Proposals 2026 for Humanitarian Mine Action in 2027-2029. The application form will be published through the applyforgrants.fi online portal once the Call opens in August 2026.

Support to INGOs is discretionary government funding granted by the Ministry and subject to annual parliamentary approval in Finland. The Act on Discretionary Government Transfers (Valtionavustuslaki 688/2001) (unofficial translation in English) is applied to all INGO support procedures and the use of the grants.
