Open hearing session concerning EU-US trade negotiations

The negotiations concerning the EU-US Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership were launched in July 2013. The fourth round of negotiations was conducted in March 2014, and the fifth one is being planned for May 2014.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs organised the first hearing session on the matter in the Finnish Parliament on 17 September 2013, and the second one at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs on 29 January 2014. The third hearing session was held on Wednesday 16 April.

The purpose of the event was to review the current situation, and to have an open discussion on the subject on the basis of presentations. Minister Stubb gave an update on the trip he made to Washington, D.C., on 7-9 April.
