Open hearing session concerning EU-US trade negotiations
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs organised the third hearing session concerning EU-US trade negotiations on Wednesday 16 April. The purpose of the event was to review the current situation, and to have an open discussion on the subject on the basis of presentations. Minister Stubb gave an update on the trip he made to Washington, D.C., last week.

The International Peace Institute (IPI) in New York has prepared a report to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland on the election of the non-permanent members at the Security Council in October 2012. The report was published on 9 April 2013 at a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Helsinki Process HP+10 Conference streamed live via webcast
The Helsinki Process HP+10 Review Conference will be held on 13-14 February, hosted by co-chairs Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja and his Tanzanian colleague Bernard Membe. The conference will assess the outcomes of the process and discuss issues related to the management of globalisation, most notably the management of the global economy and sustainable development.

Some analysts may have described the outcome of the second round of Finland’s presidential elections as predictable and unsurprising, but the number of votes cast abroad nonetheless reached record levels.
