Public discussion on the values and aims of global governance
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland will organise a public event called "Values and Aims of Global Governance" on Wednesday, 4 December, at 18.00-20.00 at the Finlandia Hall in Helsinki.
An address by Professor Clovis Maksoud from the American
University will be debated in a panel moderated by Harri
Holkeri, Former Finnish Prime Minister. Other participants are Finnish Minister for Development Cooperation Suvi-Anne Siimes, UN Under Secretary General for Economic and Social Affairs Nitin Desai, Tanzanian Foreign Minister Jakaya M. Kikwete, Director Martin Khor from the Third World Network and Secretary General Folke Sundman from the Finnish Service Centre for Development Cooperation. The debate will be conducted in English.
The event is organised in connection with the Helsinki Conference: Searching for Global Partnerships at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs Erkki Tuomioja in Helsinki on 2-4 December.
