Deputy Director Generals appointed at Foreign Ministry


In accordance with the organisational reforms of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Government appointed Deputy Director Generals at various departments at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs on Thursday, 22 May. The appointments are effective as of 1 June.

Aapo Pölhö was appointed Deputy Director General at the Political Department. Juhani Toivonen was appointed the first Deputy Director General at the Department for Development Policy and Christian Sundgren as the second Deputy Director General. Vesa Himanen was appointed the first Deputy Director General at the Department for External Economic Relations from 1 June until 31 August, 2003, and Rauno Viemerö the second Deputy Director General. Timo Repo was appointed Deputy Director General at the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia and Ulla-Maria Helaniemi at the Department for Press and Culture. Matti Kääriäinen was appointed Deputy Director General at the Department for Global Affairs from 1 June until 31 July, 2003.
