Minister Tuomioja's blog: The humanitarian situation in Ukraine

Russia has  with increasing volume demanded  action in the UN and elsewhere because of  the  humanitarian situation of the refugees and the sieged cities held by the separatists in Eastern Ukraine. Even if in so doing it may have the intention of creating an ostensible justification for its possible plans for military intervention this does not invalidate the fact that the humanitarian situation is grave and one which the international community must address.
