Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja to EU´s foreign minister meeting

Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja will attend the informal meeting of the EU foreign ministers in Evian, France, on 2-3 September.

The so called Gymnich meeting will discuss the Middle East peace process, the situation in Yugoslavia and the rationalisation of the EU´s external affairs. The ministers will also have a general discussion on the future of the EU.

Gymnich meetings are informal and no decisions are made. Each presiding country will organise one such meeting during its six-month presidency.
