Support for innovations for development and inclusive business

The project aims at advancing innovations for development and pro-poor, inclusive, base-of-the-pyramid (BOP) business in Finland's development cooperation. The project supports the development of services, modes of cooperation and events in order to promote innovations for development, inclusive business and partnerships between the private sector, public sector, civil society and education institutions. Funding can also be allocated to small pilot projects and for representatives from developing countries to participate in cooperation. The project advances the implementation of the results and recommendations produced by the task force that is led by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and Finland's Ministry of Employment and the Economy, multistakeholder partnerships and other opportunities of collaboration. Various actors have resources, knowledge, products and services, models of functioning as well as solutions which can together create new, customer-driven, partnership-based and sustainable development cooperation. The immediate beneficiaries of the project include actors which develop services and modes of cooperation, implementers of small pilot projects and representatives from developing countries who participate in cooperation. In the long run, the project benefits low-income people in developing countries, particularly women, youth and microentrepreneurs, as well as easily marginalized people. The project is implemented by experts, consultants, organizations, public and private sector stakeholders and other potential service providers who implement the MFA-MEE-led task force's work as well as implementers of potential small pilot projects.
