EU Response to the Report by Lt.Col. Helmut Napiontek
OSCE Representative to the Latvian-Russian Joint Commission on Military Pensioners

The European Union is pleased to welcome the Representative to the Latvian-Russian Joint Commission on Military Pensioners Lt. Col. Helmut Napiontek to the Permanent Council once again.

The EU attaches importance to the work of the Joint Commission and we are pleased to note that it continues to function well.

We commend the Representative for the efficiency and economy with which he carries out his functions and wish him success in his future work.

The Acceding Countries Bulgaria and Romania, the Candidate Countries Turkey, Croatia* and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia*, the Countries of the Stabilisation and Association Process and potential candidates Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia, as well as Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova align themselves with this statement.
