Rights and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities : Finland’s Foreign Policy Approach

Rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities, especially women and girls with disabilities, are a long-standing priority in Finland’s human rights-based foreign and security policy, including in development and humanitarian policies. For decades Finland has recognised disability as a human rights issue. With its human rights-based approach, Finland aims to eliminate barriers to full, effective and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in society on an equal basis with others.
