Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs to visit Finland

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavský will visit Finland on Thursday 2 June and have a meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto.

The Ministers will discuss, among other things, the priorities of the upcoming Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the security situation in Europe, Finland’s NATO membership process and the situation in the Western Balkans.

“Now that the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU is approaching, it is of great value for me and my Czech counterpart to use this opportunity to discuss the changes that are currently affecting Europe. Czechia and Finland share many common views on the development of European security and defence. Finland’s NATO membership process will further deepen our cooperation with Czechia,” says Minister for Foreign Affairs Haavisto.

During his visit, Foreign Minister Lipavský will also meet Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Tytti Tuppurainen.
