Development Cooperation Planning Funds for Somalia/ALI

Somalia is one of Finland's bilateral development cooperation partner countries. In 2021 – 2024 Finland’s bilateral development cooperation in Somalia focuses on state- and peacebuilding as well as women's sexual and reproductive health and rights. These priorities are aligned with Somalia's National Development Plan. The planning funds are used for planning, preparation, monitoring, evaluation and auditing development cooperation in Somalia, as well as for training related to development cooperation and for improving aid effectiveness. In addition, the planning funds can be used to cover the costs of visits related to development cooperation and development policy, to organize small-scale seminars, training and communication on development cooperation. Above all, the purpose of the funds is to ensure that the regional department has sufficient resources for the preparation, evaluation and monitoring of effective development cooperation. It is proposed that a total of 120 000 euros be allocated as planning funds for ALI-20.
