Finland's Country Strategy for Tanzania covers the years 2021–2024. Its main goals are to strengthen democracy, human rights and equality; to promote stability and sustainable development; to support improved forest-based livelihoods and climate resilience; to boost inclusive and sustainable economic growth; and to create jobs in Tanzania. Finland’s bilateral cooperation in Tanzania will focus on promoting active citizenship as well as on supporting improved forest-based livelihoods and climate resilience. The purpose of the planning funds is to improve the implementation and quality of Finland's development cooperation. The planning funds will be used for costs related to the preparation, monitoring and evaluation of the country strategy programs and projects and for promoting the quality and achievement of results of the development cooperation. The funds will also be used for education, communication, policy influencing and dialogue and promotion of synergies between the country strategy and Team Finland work. The amount of additional planning funds for the year 2023 is 204 179 Euros.
