Strengthening education resilience in crisis areas of Ethiopia, MYRP Amhara

Description

This education project, implemented by UNICEF, supports conflict affected children in Amhara, Ethiopia. It will provide children with psychosocial support and skills development, offer children who experienced or are at risk of experiencing violence, exploitation, neglect, and harmful practices case management services and referrals to social welfare, education and justice, promote conflict sensitive education, peacebuilding, and social cohesion opportunities, improve access to primary education and enhance education outcomes for children in the targeted communities and households, including children among internally displaced populations (IDPs) and returning IDP and improve the health and nutrition status of pre-primary and primary school children in targeted schools. The funding granted by Finland in December 2021 is 4 million euros (2022: 2 million and 2023: 2 million). In addition, top up funding of 1,310,000 euros was granted in December 2022 for 2023-2024, especially to provide school meals for children and improving their school and learning readiness. Finland's funding is 5.31 million euros in total.
