UNRWA (the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) is a humanitarian agency that provides basic services and protection for about 5.8 million Palestine refugees in the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. Humanitarian situation in the area has either deteriorated or remains challenging. Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine and its effects have posed an additional challenge to the difficult economic situation in UNRWA.
