OPH/Finland´s Support to the Education System Development in Uzbekistan

Description

Since 2016, Uzbekistan has opened up both regionally and internationally. Uzbekistan has also launched an ambitious economic and social reform program, which includes goals also related to education; the aim is the "Development of education and science". Uzbekistan and its President Mirzijoyev refer to Finland as a model country for good education, and cooperation between Finland and Uzbekistan in this field have been ongoing since 2021. The overall purpose of this ICI project is to support Uzbekistan education authorities to achieve their strategic objectives and SDG 4 (Ensure Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education). Capacity development in various forms will be provided, in order to enhance the policies, strategies and practices, and to help the Government of Uzbekistan to make evidence-based policies and decisions. The specific aim is to promote quality education practices through providing capacity development in the development of new pedagogies, teaching processes, pedagogical management, and curricular development.
