Support to the WFP operation in Ukraine 2022

Finland supports the WFP operation in Ukraine with 5 million euros in 2022. Russia's invasion of Ukraine has caused a severe humanitarian crisis. According to the UN, almost 16 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. Food is one of the most urgent needs and approximately 1 in 2 households are food insecure in the Southern and Eastern oblasts of Ukraine. Since the Russian invasion started, WFP has been providing food to over 2 million people each month, also the regions with active war activities. WFP's needs in Ukraine are approx. 1 billion USD for this year, with 715 million of the needs still unfulfilled.
