Description

Finland contributes 8 million euros to UN's Ukraine Humanitarian Fund. In Ukraine, 17,7 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. UN requires 4,3 billion dollars for its humanitarian operations between March and December 2022. In August, 56% of the appeal has been covered. The needs will increase towards the end of the year. Ukraine Humanitarian Fund is a rapid, flexible and strategic humanitarian fund that supports also national and local humanitarian organizations. In 2022, it aims to reach 4,9 million people, of which 58 % are women and girls. In 2022, the fund has allocated 91 million dollars to 38 humanitarian partners working in Ukraine; 25% of this has been directed to national and local NGOs. The operations are mostly focused in Eastern Ukraine. The fund pays special attention to four underfunded priorities: gender equality, disability inclusion, protection and education in emergencies.
