The UN Team of Experts on Rule of Law / Sexual Violence in Conflict

The Team of Experts (TOE) on the Rule of Law and Sexual Violence in Conflict, which was established pursuant to Security Council resolution 1888 (2009), is liaised with the office of the United Nations’ Special Representative on Sexual Violence. The team combats sexual violence by focused efforts on strengthening the capacity of national rule of law and justice actors. Finland is committed to promoting peace and security in Africa. Supporting the development of the rule of law and the fight against impunity are essential parts of conflict prevention on the continent. This is why Finland supports the Team of Experts on Rule of law and their work in Africa. Finland has previously financed TOE-projects in Guinea and South-Sudan. In year 2019 Finland’s financial contribution is 100 000 euros and will be directed to TOE-projects in Africa.
