Organisational Support for the Finnish Refugee Council
Description
The Finnish Refugee Council is a specialist in international refugee work. Its mission is to improve the basic rights of refugees and returnees. It works closely with UNHCR (United Nations High Comissioner for Refugees) and it is an official associate of the UNHCR in Finland in communication related to refugee issues. The Refugee Council offers information for example on its development cooperation, insights for refugee related issues in development cooperation and the life of refugees in the crisis areas as well as it raises discussion. Its work in Finland includes trainings. In partner countries the work of Finnish Refugee Council is adult education, youth work and supporting returnee communities in the societies recovering from crises. In 2019-20 with the organisationtal support the Refugee Council continues to update its communication strategy, to benefit from its international work expecially in communication in Finland, and to support the UN link and close cooperation with UNHCR. In 2018 the Refugee Council strengthened its administration for example by renewing its Human Resources management and by strengthening its economic administration and reporting. In addition it organised with UNHCR a consultation on Multi Year - Multi Partner Plan in Helsinki. The general terms for government grants and specific additional terms for organisational support apply for the organisational support. The Finish Refugee Council receives organisation support 248 000 euros per year, total 496 000 euros for 2019 and 2020.
