INT/Organizational support for the Finnish Committee for UNICEF
Description
The association is the national committee of the United Nations Children's Fund. UNICEF is the guardian of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Convention forms the basis for the programme and advocacy work both domestically and internationally. UNICEF Finland promotes the well-being of the children in the development countries by collecting funds to the programmes implemented by United Nations Children's Fund. The association also carries out significant development education and information work focusing on the UN Sustainable Development Goals from a child’s position and rights point of view. One example of this is a youtube canal on sustainable development goals aimed to reach children trough channels they already use. Year 2018 Unicef Finland reported that it had 360 lectures which reached 38 000 pupils and students with their teachers around Finland. In addition, it organised for example a video workshop on sustainable development goals with children and young people utilising youtube. The general terms for government grants and specific additional termas for organisational support apply for the organisational support. UNICEF Finland receives organisational support for 2019 and 2020 €226 920 per year, total 453 849 euros.
