Communications with stakeholders

The implementation of the goals of Finland´s development policy relies on the essential support of Finnish citizens and the relevant interest groups. The Unit for Development Communications supports the Ministry´s departments and units in charge of development policy and development cooperation in communicating about their work. The common goal is to make both the policies and their relevance as well as the results of Finland´s development cooperation known among the stakeholders and the Finnish public. The guidelines for all the Ministry communications are openness, clarity and reliability. Timely communications, active cooperation with the media and strategic work with the stakeholders are all needed. Long-term global education is equally important as it paves the way for global citizenship. The allowance is used for the yearly opinion poll on the public´s attitude, to produce also necessary thematic contents and to participate in the DEVCOM -network of the OECD Development Centre. The allowance for communication for interest groups, 120 000 euros, will be used during 2022 and early 2023.
