EU Trust fund (EUTF)

In September 2016, a historic peace agreement between the Colombian Government and the guerrilla organisation FARC was concluded, ending more than five decades of violent conflict. In December 2016, the EU set up a support fund (EUTF) to maintain the stability of Colombia and to implement the peace agreement. A strong focus is on the reintegration of former guerrillas to the society as well as on rural development. The project primarily promotes Finland's development policy priority of ‘strengthening the democracy and functionality of societies’. Additionally, the project also promotes the rights and status of women and girls as well as supports efforts to increase jobs, business and general wellbeing in the society. Finland joined the Fund in 2019, and contributed 150 000 EUR to the Fund. In September 2020, the EUTF's total budget was 127 MEUR. Finland's contribution in 2021 is 150 000 EUR.
