IUCN-Finland Framework agreement
Description
International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is a globally unique actor in the conservation of biodiversity and in ensuring equitable and ecologically sustainable use of resources. The IUCN promotes the use of nature-based solutions and good environmental management. The mission is to influence, encourage and assist societies to conserve the integrity and diversity of nature and ensure that any use of natural resources is equitable and ecologically sustainable. The Framework agreement for the years 2021-2024 between Finland and IUCN supports the implementation of IUCN’s work program for the same years. IUCN supports the implementation of Finland’s development policy, in particular the priority area IV related to promoting climate sustainability, access to sustainable energy and energy efficiency as well as good environmental governance. Payment of 2,8 million euros is proposed to the IUCN Framework Partnership for the years 2021-2024 (700 000/year)
