Twelft Replenishment of the International Fund for Agricultural Development
Description
IFAD is a UN specialized agency, which provides funding for programs and projects that improve food security and nutrition and reduce rural poverty in developing countries. The replenishment of IFAD's resources are negotiated every three years. The upcoming IFAD-12 replenishment will cover 2022-2024. The IFAD-12 total replenishment was agreed at the December 2020 meeting to be $ 3.8 billion, of which donors will pay a total of $ 1.55 billion. During the IFAD-12 period, 100% of IFAD's grant funding will go to the poorest countries (LIC and LMIC) and 55% to Africa. At least 25% of resources are directed to fragile states and 40% to climate finance. Finland will participate in IFAD-12 replenishment with EUR 15,000,000.
