MYA/Strenghtening of the Myanmar Peace Process
Description
Myanmar has been suffering from civil wars for the last 70 years. The project aims to contribute to the creation of a more favourable security policy environment by focusing on the previously unresolved problems of the peace process. The project aims 1) to promote the functioning of the ceasefire monitoring mechanism in order to fulfil its tasks, 2) improve communication between the parties to the conflict and donors, 3) to promote a common understanding between the parties On key issues of conflict, 4) to support the creation of jointly agreed and dedicated practices. The implementing partner of the project is the Crisis Management Initiative, CMI. The project will support the achievement of the results of the Finnish Myanmar Development indicative programme. The project will be financed by EUR 1.75 million from 2019 to 2021.
