There are currently 5.2 million people in need of humanitarian assistance in Somalia (1/3 of the population). One of the most protracted humanitarian crisis in the world. There are approximately 2.5 million internally displaced persons. Approximately 805 000 Somalis are living as refugees in the neighboring countries. COVID-19 has deteriorated the humanitarian situation in Somalia. Floods, draughts and locusts are affecting to the food security. The planned funding for UNHCR in Somalia is 2,55 million euros for the year 2020.
