UNFPA Somalia Wellbeing of Women and Girls
Description
The overall goal of the UNFPA Somalia country programme (2021-2025) is to improve the health, well-being and rights of women, adolescents and youth, and the most vulnerable populations. It aims to reduce maternal mortality and gender-based violence in Somalia. The country programme aims to achieve this through four impact areas: 1) Sexual and reproductive health; 2) Adolescents and youth; 3) Gender equality and women empowerment; and 4) Population dynamics. Finland has supported the implementation of the UNFPA Somalia country programme with 12 million Euros during the years 2017-2020. Planned funding for the new country programme is 25 million Euros in total for the years 2021-2025.
