Strengthening Prevention and Response to gender based violence in Kenya
Description
The objective of the bilateral programme is to prevent and reduce gender-based violence (GBV) against women and children in Kenya and to ensure first-response services for victims especially at county level. The impact of the four-year programme is to improve the quality and availability of services for victims. The outcome of the programme is the improvement of first-response services for victims of GBV in three counties in Kenya and to strengthen duty-bearer coordination and management of services at the national level. At the same time awareness-raising on the effects of GBV and services available to victims will be carried out at county- and community levels. The programme aims at strengthening the capacity of duty-bearers to carry out legislation and policy-making in GBV matters. The main partner of the programme is the State Department for Gender Affairs at the Ministry for Public Service, Youth and Gender. County Governments will also be active partners of the programme.
