Community Resilience & Development Programme for Area C & East Jerusalem (CRDP)
Description
Area C of the West Bank is crucial to the viability of the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This is due to its economic potential (land reserve, agriculture, natural resources), and because it constitutes the underlying frame of territorial contiguity in the West Bank. Palestinian communities in Area C and East Jerusalem are vulnerable, especially because of the Israeli occupation. The CRDP programme supports grassroots level projects in Area C and East-Jerusalem. The long-term objective is to strengthen the resilience of Palestinians living in Area C and East Jerusalem by supporting and developing their living conditions. The immediate objectives of the programme is to improve public and social infrastructure, access to sustainable livelihood and business opportunities and strengthen the capacity of the Palestinian Authority to develop the mentioned areas. Finland’s contribution to the CRDP is 400 000 euros in 2018 – 2019.
