Finland will support the Palestinian education sector with the amount of nine million euros during 2018 - 2020. In addition to Finland, also Ireland, Norway and Germany participate in the joint financing arrangement for the education sector. Finland supports the development of the entire sector with the specific aim to improve the quality and equality of education. Finland has supported the Palestinian education sector since 1997. The cooperation has for its part contributed to good results: the Palestinian level of education and the literacy rate are high, both genders participate equally in education, safe access to school is supported and pre-school education and inclusive education are priorities of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The right to education is a crucial human right and Finland promotes equal access to education for all Palestinian children.
