The Lifeline Embattled CSO Assistance Fund
Description
LifelineThe Lifeline Embattled CSO Assistance Fund is a fund, established in 2012, that supports human rights defenders worldwide. The activities are focused on three different dimensions: 1) Emergency assistance for defenders in dager, 2) Advocacy work, 3) Resilience support. The grant-making is coordinated by a Consortium of seven international NGOs. Since its establishment the Fund has been able to support human rights defenders in over 100 countries. The Fund receives considerably more applications than it is able to provide support. As support for human rights defenders is one of the priority areas of the Finnish foreign policy, Finland will join the Fund with a contribution of 100 000 EUR for activities in developing countries in 2017 and 2018.
