Membership of Ministry for Foreing Affairs of Finland in U4 Anti-Corruption Resource Center
Description
U4 Anti-Corruption Resource Center serves its partner agencies and the needs of the member countries development personnel in anti-corruption work. U4 provides counseling services, research and material as well as training for anti-corruption work on different themes related to corruption. It is different from other actors in that it particularly focuses on development policy and cooperation. U4 aspires to reduce the negative impact of corruption on sustainable and inclusive development. The general aim is to provide operationally-relevant knowledge and training, based on high-quality research findings, for the partners. In addition U4 aims at reducing global corruption by providing research and publications available to all. The services of U4 are available on their web-page www.u4.no. In 2017 U4 organized four guided web-based trainings and seven country workshops. 27 helpdesk queries were made. There were in total 583 web-page sessions from from Finland. 67 MFA staff participated in trainings (web-based trainings, country workshops and training in Helsinki). The objective of Finland's U4's membership is to strengthen Finland's development cooperation effectiveness and efficiency, by increasing the understanding of anti-corruption work in different areas and themes among the personnel and organizations involved and practicing development co-operation. Finland has been a U4 member since 2012. In 2018-2020 Finland supports U4 with 660 000 euro.
