Finnish Red Cross humanitarian operations in 2020

Ministry for Foreign Affairs will provide 500 000 euros for the Finnish Red Cross (FRC) in support of its emergency preparedness. Over the years, the FRC has participated in several Red Cross Red Crescent Movement emergency operations through Emergency Response Units / the Rapid Deployment Mechanism (ERU/RDM), and Field Assessment and Coordination Team (FACT) delegate deployments - on average two deployments per year. The most deployed units have been logistics and health (i.e. a clinic or a hospital). Pre-secured funding from the MFA is essential to ensure a rapid deployment.
