Asian Development Bank ADB Ventures Investment Fund 1

Description

ADB Ventures Investment Fund I is a multilateral investment fund with a maximum size of US $ 60 million and a duration of 17 years. ADB Ventures Investment Fund 1 focuses on combating climate change (80% of projects promote climate action) and gender equality (75% of projects have a positive gender impact). Geographically, the fund invests mainly in Southeast Asia (about 50% of projects) and South Asia (about 30% of projects). The fund aims to invest half of its capital in about 15-20 growth companies in the fund's first three years. The other half of the capital and any returns on the fund will be invested in these companies over a 10-year follow-up period, provided the companies are profitable and have strong growth potential. The return on investments can also be distributed to investors during the follow-on period. During the last four years, returns on investment are distributed to investors.
